About

Ezekiel Tobechukwu “Zeke” Nnaji, born January 9, 2001, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is an American professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets, who drafted him 22nd overall in 2020 after his college career at Arizona.

Before focusing on basketball because of his height, he played baseball and soccer, and he has played piano since first grade, composing his own music alongside his athletic career.

Nnaji began his high school basketball career at Lakeville North High School before transferring to Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, where he became a standout senior, averaging 24.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game and leading Hopkins to a Minnesota 4A state title over his former school, Lakeville North, posting 14 points and 12 rebounds in the championship game.

He played club basketball for the Adidas-sponsored D1 Minnesota program alongside Matthew Hurt and earned an invitation to the Iverson Classic all-star game. As a recruit, he was ranked 22nd nationally and rated a five-star prospect by Rivals, though most other services considered him a four-star talent, before he committed to play college basketball at Arizona.
