About

Zach Collins, born November 19, 1997, is an American professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls, who played college basketball at Gonzaga before the Sacramento Kings drafted him 10th overall in 2017; he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers the same night.

His early Portland career was hampered by injuries, limiting him to just 154 games across his first four seasons. He signed with the San Antonio Spurs as a free agent in August 2021, spending four seasons there before being traded to the Bulls in 2025.

Collins starred at Bishop Gorman High School in Summerlin, Nevada, helping lead the program to four consecutive state championships. For his first three seasons there, he came off the bench alongside fellow seven-footers and McDonald’s All-Americans Stephen Zimmerman and Chase Jeter, developing behind two of the nation’s top big-man prospects.

His senior season marked a breakout, as he averaged 17.3 points, 14 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 6.4 blocked shots per game, performances that earned him Most Valuable Player honors in Nevada’s Southwest League as well as the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year award, cementing his status as one of the top recruits in the country heading into his college career at Gonzaga.
