Georgina Spelvin, born Shelley Bob Graham on March 1, 1936, in Houston, Texas, is an American former actress and pornographic performer best known for starring in the 1973 film The Devil in Miss Jones, a landmark title of the Golden Age of Porn. The daughter of a geophysicist, she grew up moving frequently as a child, took dancing lessons, and graduated high school in 1954. She once reflected that she had originally hoped to become an opera singer, then a ballerina, before her career became “a series of compromises.”

Graham began professionally as a dancer and chorus girl in Pajama Game, later appearing in the Broadway productions of Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, and Sweet Charity. During this period she adjusted the spelling of her name to “Chele Graham,” keeping the same pronunciation. As performance opportunities became less frequent, she shifted into theater production work, taking on roles as a choreographer, director, and lighting technician across several musicals. This behind-the-scenes theatrical experience eventually led her into underground filmmaking, setting the stage for the screen career—including her most famous role in The Devil in Miss Jones—for which she would later become known. Her trajectory from Broadway dancer to production crew member to on-screen performer reflects the varied, adaptive path many theater professionals took during that era as opportunities shifted across mediums.
