Christopher Andrés Álvarez García (born 16 September 2001), known professionally as Cris MJ, is a Chilean singer and songwriter from La Serena. He gained international recognition with “Una Noche en Medellín” in 2022. Its 2023 remix with Karol G and Ryan Castro reached number 68 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
In 2024, he collaborated with FloyyMenor on “Gata Only”, which peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song won Global 200 Latin Song of the Year at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards and Top Latin Song at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.

Álvarez began posting his own music online around 2019 and subsequently released singles and collaborations within Chile’s urban music scene. His stage name combines a shortened form of his first name with the initials of Mala Junta, the name used by a group of his father’s friends.
His early releases included “Locura y Maldad” and “Los Malvekes”, a collaboration with Marcianeke and Simón la Letra.
