About

Álex Gonzales (born July 30, 1986), known by his stage name King Lil G, is a prominent Mexican-American rapper from Los Angeles County. He is widely recognized for his raw storytelling, capturing the struggles of street life, gang involvement, and his upbringing by a single mother. He fronts the AK47 Boyz movement and independent brand.

Born in Mexico City and raised in Los Angeles County by his single Mexican mother, Lil G turned to the streets shortly after his parents divorced when he was 12. He later got jumped into the 18th Street gang. The gang activity would catch up with him, landing him in Juvenile Hall and then house arrest.

King Lil G blends raw West Coast gangsta rap with Chicano culture, driven by 1990s G-funk, honest street storytelling, and Mexican heritage. Heavy basslines, smooth synth melodies, and classic 90s California bounce reminiscent of Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, and Dr. Dre. Focuses on realistic, confessional narratives about poverty, single-mother households, street life, and redemption. Seamlessly weaves Spanish phrases and cultural references into English-language street rhymes.
