Hannah Dakota Fanning, born February 23, 1994, is an American actress recognized for her work across blockbuster films and independent features, both as a child performer and as an adult. Her career has earned nominations for four Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, reflecting a body of work spanning more than two decades.

Fanning first drew acclaim at age seven for her performance in the drama I Am Sam (2001), which earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She went on to solidify her stardom as a child actress in Uptown Girls (2003), Man on Fire (2004), War of the Worlds (2005), Charlotte’s Web (2006), and The Secret Life of Bees (2008).

She transitioned into more mature roles with The Twilight Saga (2009–2012), as well as independent dramas including The Runaways (2010) and Night Moves (2013), and later appeared in Ocean’s 8 (2018), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), and The Equalizer 3 (2023).

Since 2018, Fanning has taken on prominent television roles in The Alienist, The First Lady (2022), The Perfect Couple (2024), and The Watchers (2024). She has earned Primetime Emmy nominations for portraying an American expatriate in Netflix’s Ripley (2025) and a concerned mother in a Peacock mystery series.
